YouTube now shows a preview of the next video during the last 20 seconds of playlist videos on TV/Chromecast – how to disable?
Since today, whenever I'm watching a playlist on YouTube via Chromecast (on an LG OLED TV), a preview of the next video appears as an overlay during the last ~20 seconds of the current video.
I've already tried:
- Disabling Autoplay in the YouTube settings (doesn't affect this)
- Disabling Autoplay via youtube.com on desktop (same result)
The annoying part: this doesn't seem to happen on mobile, only on TV/Chromecast. And it doesn't even make sense as an "autoplay prompt" since the next video in a playlist plays automatically anyway.
Has anyone else noticed this today? And more importantly – is there any way to permanently disable it? I don't want to have to dismiss it manually every single time.
