Last friday I fell on spilled shampoo and had a clean break right at the hip.
The surgeon convinced me that a total hip replacement would mean a quicker recovery time.
It has been 9 days since the surgery and I am able to hobble around my house, but the pain meds are a must. Now I’m only taking a muscle relaxer, Toradol, and over the counter tylenol.
I am walking slowly and for the most part I am staying off it.I am seeing the pt tomorrow for the first time.
So any advice that you all wish you had been given?
I was moderately active so sitting around has been driving me crazy.

I just had a hip replaced this past Saturday. It was a freak accident and I fell, they decided to do a full replacement instead of pins.
Now I only offer massage part time, but I love this career.
I am probably over thinking but I can’t imagine doing 5 massages in a spa setting even months down the road.
Has anyone had a major surgery like this and bounced back, or did you have to go in a different path of massage therapy such as teaching or maybe even a gentler approach and techniques?

I feel so guilty, I went to work today with what I thought was just alrergies. My nose was constantly running and I kept tons of hand sanitizer with me. I however kept haing to wipe my running nose. As the day progressed and I was talking to the spa owner she told me to just wear a mask, but how can I constantly deal with my sinuses with a mask. Now after getting home I Am now running a fever! This is a full fledged cold. I feel horrible and I know I’m going to put them into a bind by calling in because I am currently one of very few therapist left. I however can not get anyone else sick! I just hope that I did not pass this on to any of my clients. One stated that they had just gotten over this cold. I do feel horrible but what else can I do.
