Birth classes/tips

Hello all, I am almost 27 weeks with #2 and planning a birthing center birth (unfortunately homebirth is not feasible with a midwife in my area). My birth with my first was traumatic, long and ended in a 3b tear. I want everything to go differently this time.

With my first I lived in fear all pregnancy long. I never researched almost anything because I felt paralyzed with the fear that I would never actually meet my son.

With this pregnancy I'm so much more level headed and dare I say I feel energized by the idea of having this baby. My son is only 16mo old so I am busy all day long but I'm finally getting to the point that I'm ready to do more of a deep dive to prepare for labor and birth. Something online would be great for me as I don't have much time to do stuff without my son.

I am currently reading Ina Mays Guide to Childbirth and find myself tearing up out of joy reading the positive stories.

I coped with no epidural with my son until 8cm (induced, horrible horrible back to back contractions for 48 hours and then 4 hours of pushing). I would love to learn more about ways to cope with pain during the process naturally. My midwives are very helpful and share lots of information but I'd love to spend some of my free time learning what I can do to best support my labor and delivery process.

Thanks ❤️

Prediction on my son's eyes

Here are my son's eyes yesterday (16mo old) and his eyes when he was a newborn (about 1mo old). They started out as a darker gray/blue and have progressed to be a very striking blue color. This comes as a shock to us because my husband and I both have hazel eyes. My mother (son's grandma) has very blue eyes and my husbands grandpa also has blue eyes. Even though they have just gotten more blue I'm still convinced they will turn because I can't believe his eye color will stay! I look forward to hearing y'all's predictions.

NRG recommendations!

Hello all,

my husband, baby, and I will be heading to NRG soon. We plan on camping in the park. I've looked through all of them but having a hard time deciding which we should shoot for. Any recommendations or ones you love? I prefer something wooded. We plan on arriving mid week to avoid not finding something.

Next, anybody have hiking recommendations? We have an osprey hiking backpack so we can do quite a lot with the baby. I would prefer no trails where I feel like I'll slide down a cliff side with my baby 🤣. I'm also pregnant so maybe not the most strenuous hikes as well. Lastly, any food/brewery recommendations outside of the park? We will probably go out to eat at least once.

Thanks!
