Bad temporary and permanent crown

One of my front teeth (right side), got broken in a bike accident 11 years ago. I was 8 years old at the time, and got it filled since the original dentist didn’t want to put a crown.
Now I’m 19, and the filling got very dark. I went to a dentist, she showed me pictures of results of front tooth crowns, and they looked amazing!
So I get the tooth filed, and the temp (awful).
Ok, I wait the two weeks. My teeth are pretty white, but translucent…the permanent crown looked like Benjamin Moore’s super white (or like a shiny white plate). Zero translucency, zero lifelikeness, simply horrifying…oh and shape as off! I of course refused to take it (didn’t pay a cent), and refused to use the same lab for the redo. I went to an in person lab, and got matched for another crown today. Should I even keep the same dentist?
I am losing hope, it’s my front tooth and I have a SUPER important event the first week of November.
If you have any recommendations for dentists or prosthodontics in CT (Fairfield County) please let me know.
I obviously picked a bad dentist who can’t coordinate their lab.
I just need a crown that doesn’t look like it’s so fake next to my teeth (the current dentist has offered to do it free of charge because I was so distraught and shocked today)
I’m really desperate, I can’t be having temporary crowns forever and just hopping from one bad permanent to another.
Please tell me what should I do.

Looking into a specific Cessna 172N, want to know if it’s a good buy or not

For context, the plane is a Cessna 172N with a 180hp engine. It has 690 hours since major overhaul, and the only incident is a documented prop strike where they tore down the engine and replaced the prop in 2021.
New paint and windscreen, just had an annual inspection (NEED a pre buy).
Here’s the problem…kept in south Florida (F45 is the airport), and has two spots of surface corrosion.
Owner says none in the inspection ports, though would need a thorough pre buy inspection.
Is it worth even getting a pre buy? Or is the risk too high?
Let me know your thoughts…and if it’s worth getting a pre buy good A and Ps in that area.

Legal question about giving ground training to a CFI initial applicant

I am giving ground training to a CFI initial candidate (am not a 2 year CFI), and we are logging it (like review of FOIs and human factors for example).
Of course a 2 year CFI will do all her required training (including ground training), though is it ok we are logging it?

Looking into buying a C172N or P model for independent flight instruction, would like to hear all insights on whether it’s worth doing cost wise.

As said, looking into buying a Cessna 172 in the Northeast, but I want to plan this very carefully knowing the cost and planning for unexpected cost (maintenance).
Also, would like to know what are your dealbreakers when it comes to finding the airplane (things you like/do not like).
Thank you!

Private pilot checkride with Daryl Smith

I am a CFI, my student is going for a checkride with Daryl Smith in a couple weeks.
I have no experience with Daryl Smith (all previous experience is with Nick Gregory and Steve Campbell), I would really like a checkride debrief from people who have gone with Daryl Smith, and an overall idea of what to expect with him.
Thank you all so much for your help!!

Tailwheel endorsement struggles

I’ve been working on my tailwheel endorsement…slow progress (which is ok).
Edit- training is in a Decathlon.
My landings are improving, slowly, but they noticeably are.
The takeoffs are actually a worse struggle than the landings, I am not using enough forward pressure on the stick on the takeoff, and it’s all not working out!
Any tips for tailwheel takeoffs and landings, especially takeoffs?
Thank you all so much for all your help!

Afraid I just made a huge mistake as a new CFI

I have a student who came to me having lost his student pilot certificate…and had a name change since then.
I submitted a new IACRA application (probably a big mistake) with his new name and signed by me, thinking he can contact the FSDO with the name change papers and get the new certificate.
Did I make a huge mistake by submitting a new application for a certificate he has thinking he can just make the appointment with the FSDO with the name change papers?
