2005 Jeep GC 5.7 Temperature / Thermostat
Hey Guys
Quick question. I have a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.7 thats at about 130k miles. Over the past few weeks, i have noticed my temperature gauge sitting higher than normal. It gets as high as about 12 o'clock, maybe a few ticks below.
Never over.
But still higher than normal. Think normal about 11 oclock?
Nothing has really changed. I do notice a small coolant leak near the Thermostat. Im thinking about gettin a new Jet 180 thermostat. (Last one was put in 2018) Last year, had a new radiator put in along with some new hoses.
You guys think a new T180 and housing will help with the temp? Fans seems to work as they should... and very small leak from around the hose area. (See pic) Months back i slapped some zip ties on it and seems to fix the leak 100 percent. Nothing really changed, but do see that there is small leak at times now.
Any other thoughts?
Air in the system? Not sure how it can magically appear over time?
Was going to check the bleeder valve when replacing the Tstat to stop the leak...
