Large purchase after payment

Just paid off my credit card in full. I plan on buying the new MacBook when the available credit posts. (Mignt come up to 5K CAD) And am wondering if anyone has had any issues using their card right after a large payment? Should I call in and inform them?

Scotiabank account under review for over a week after being asked for bank statements - is this normal?

Hello all. Posted this in another thread thought I'd get some responses here.

But im wondering if anyone here has gone through something similar with Scotiabank.

I recently opened a Scotiabank chequing account and was approved for a $25,000 unsecured ScotiaLine. Shortly after using a small portion of the line of credit, both my chequing account and ScotiaLine were restricted pending an internal review.

(It was a very small portion of it)

My advisor later asked me to provide two months of bank statements showing where my payroll is deposited. I sent everything they requested on Monday.

His most recent update was that the back-end investigations team is "connecting with third parties to verify the information." He also told me he doesn't have access to the investigation itself and can only request updates from them.

It's now Friday, and I still haven't heard anything. My advisor has actually been very helpful and has checked with the team each morning, but he hasn't received any new information.

Has anyone had Scotiabank take this long to verify payroll or bank statements? Is several business days normal for this type of review, or did your case end up involving something more serious?

I'm mostly trying to understand whether this timeline is typical, because being unable to access my account with very little information has been frustrating as hell, and I'm shocked to be going through this with one of the big 5 banks.

Has anyone had Scotia take this long to complete an account review?

opened a new Scotiabank chequing account and shortly after decided to apply for a LOC. Was then approved for a $25k ScotiaLine. Shortly after using a small portion of it, both my chequing account and LOC were restricted for review.

My advisor asked me to provide two months of bank statements showing where my payroll is deposited, which I sent on Monday. He told me the back-end investigations team is "connecting with third parties to verify the information" and that he checks with them every morning.

It's now Friday, and I still haven't heard anything. My advisor has been helpful, but he says he doesn't have direct access to the investigation and is waiting for updates himself.

Has anyone had Scotia take several business days just to verify bank statements or payroll information? Is this normal, or did your review end up uncovering an issue?

Just trying to get an idea of what other people's experiences have been because being left in the dark is pretty frustrating.
