Hello! Total newbie here. I am planning on making a kantha type baby blanket as a gift. I have seen that people use old flannel sheets instead of batting. Has anyone ever used plain muslin fabric? Also - if I'm doing a hand running stitch like in kantha or Big Stitch quilting, does anybody have a preference between the two?
