My collection almost 11 years in!

I started collecting when I was 14! For the first couple years, I would go to hmv and take advantage of their 2/$20 or 3/$15 deals, maybe pick up new releases. I loved checking their inventory online and figuring out which location would make the most sense for me to visit based on what I wanted and what was there. Eventually, I figured out I could get used stuff for way cheaper, got some really awesome deals on Kijiji/FB Marketplace, started checking the CD section every time I went to a thrift store, and would go hunting at my local record shops. Some years have been more bountiful than others. I just love everything about collecting CDs, except for when I run out of money and shelf space lol

Anyways... What albums/bands do you think I should keep an eye out for based on what I have already? Do I have any of your favourite albums?

(last pic is all of my sleeves and some DIY stuff I've picked up from local or touring artists)

Today's FB Marketplace haul!

I've been trying to take risks and buy albums that I haven't really listened to before. I picked these ones either because they looked interesting, or because I'd heard of the band but haven't listened yet. I think I wanna start with Tuuli's album. Any others that stand out?

Also, coincidentally, I think I bought a few CDs off the same guy back in 2018! He said it rang a bell lol, I definitely recognized the house though.

Can I buy A4 sized paper anywhere in Winnipeg?

As the title says. I found a sewing pattern that I want to try but the pattern is only made to print on A4 sized paper. I've looked on the Staples and Walmart websites and am only seeing regular letter sized printer paper. My printer has a setting for A4 so I just need the paper.

Thanks!

My 10 most valuable! (according to discogs median estimates)

  1. Hayley Williams - EDAABP (Hayley's Mix): managed to snag it off her webstore, it's one of only 1,500! I was sooo happy :)

  2. MCR - I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love: got it from someone on Kijiji for like $25 in 2018, and it has the sampler CD!

  3. Frnkiero and the Cellabration - Stomachaches: this one surprised me that it was so valuable, I picked it up for $8 from one of my local record shops on RSD in 2024

  4. The Brobecks - Violent Things: this one surprised me too, ordered it new from Dallon's webstore back in 2019 when it was reissued

  5. Fall Out Boy - Evening Out With Your Girlfriend: got this one at the same time as the MCR album, also for like $20. It's supposed to have the sampler CD, but it didn't come with it when I got it

  6. Tame Impala - Innerspeakers (Limited Edition): picked this one up at the same time as Stomachaches for like $10, was also surprised to see that it's valuable

  7. Fall Out Boy - TTTYG: I did not realize this one was so uncommon, I got it brand new from HMV in 2016. Apparently straight from 2003 and the only Canadian pressing!

  8. Fall Out Boy - My Heart Will Always Be The B-Side To My Tongue: my first "rare" find in my collection! I found it on Kijiji for $5 in 2016. Still has the DVD too! (side note, my friend got a DVD copy of Release the Bats from the same seller ((iykyk)))

  9. Hayley Williams - Flowers for Vases/descansos: I got this one off Discogs a few months ago for $16 and somehow it's up here

  10. Silverstein - Discovering the Waterfront: also a Kijiji find in 2017 or so, probably got it for $10 or less. It includes a double sided DVD, one side Silverstein, the other side Bayside.

Thought it would be fun to share my "most valuable" and how they came to be in my collection! I would love to hear how you all found your most "valuable" CDs (and if you also got them for a good deal lol)
