Hey Reddit!

My boyfriend is celebrating one year of sobriety on the 25th and I want to gift him a “variety” pack of great NA beers. I want to help him find his next favorite one.

I know he likes lagers, pale ales, and IPAs but does not care for the Athletic brand you can find at many bars.

I am located in Los Angeles if you can recommend beers you like that I can find locally or at your regular BevMo.

My (37F) boyfriend (32M) and I are contemplating moving from the east side to the west side. His place of work (which he drives to approx 1-2 times per week) is in Culver City. The commute kills him and he wants to be nearer to the ocean to surf more. It's also not as hot in the summer.

I can live anywhere since I work from home. We are both laid back, work in film in some capacity, and like the food, weirdness, youthfulness, etc of the east side. All we have heard about the west side is that it's tech bros and families, but the commute issue is slowly killing my partner.

Does anyone have anything nice to say about the west side for two art-loving 30-somethings? Are there way less people with interests that are our age? I'm nervous that we're going to hate it.
