Option to strip metadata (like GPS) when sharing photos via Proton Drive

The original metadata, including GPS location data, is currently preserved in the shared files…

Would be awesome if the Proton team could implement a toggle or an automatic feature to strip those metadata/EXIF data when creating a shareable link for photos.

Proton Mail iOS doesn't show custom contact names from Protons address book and it displays sender's self-configured name instead

Proton Mail on iOS is ignoring my custom contact names from the address book and just showing whatever the sender set themselves. Whether I label someone "Mom" or use their full name, the app completely skips it.

The web and desktop clients handle this perfectly, displaying exactly what I saved. This feels like a specific iOS bug (maybe Android aswell?)

Moin zusammen,

ich bin auf der Suche nach nem Domain-Registrar, der in der EU ansässig ist und FIDO2/WebAuthn als Login-Methode unterstützt statt nur TOTP.

Thx

"Apple could let you pick a favorite AI model in iOS 27"

Well, that's dope. And i hope, if it's really coming, that Lumo can be a privacy-friendly deep integrated Siri alternative.

>"According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, Apple is planning to allow third-party chatbots to power its Al features system-wide in iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27, all expected for this fall. In addition to running Siri, compatible third-party Al models, called "Extensions," will also now be able to run other Apple Intelligence features like Writing Tools and Image Playground."

Jo, lecker:

Ein trivialer Logikfehler im Linux-Kernel (CVE-2026-31431) ermöglicht die vollständige Rechteausweitung auf allen großen Distributionen....

https://copy.fail

>If your kernel was built between 2017 and the patch — which covers essentially every mainstream Linux distribution — you're in scope. Copy Fail requires only an unprivileged local user account — no network access, no kernel debugging features, no pre-installed primitives.
