You weren't sure how you hadn't noticed the poker set and pack of cards next to your box of board games before now, but when you activated the dateviators on them, it was clear that they were not at all related to each other.

The bespectacled woman before you was dressed like a croupier, albeit decorated with less than professional tattoos, poker chip earrings and literal aces tucked tucked into her rolled up sleeves.

 

Narrator

Idly shuffling a deck of cards in her hands, she gives you a smile that could be described as either friendly... or mischievous.

"Oh, hey there! Been a while, care for a game of something?"

 

[Huh, was wondering where I'd put that...]

[Nah, there's a reason I'd left you up here.]

[I was expecting Parker to show up, why are you here?] <

"Cause I'm not a board game, silly! In fact, you wouldn't even need that whole set there, just a deck of cards and maybe somethin' to bet with!"

[Didn't think I'd be talking to a poker set today... then again, didn't think I'd be talking to ANY furniture till recently.]

[Last time I played with cards, it ended... poorly.]

"Yep! Well, kinda. Anything that uses a basic set of cards; poker variants, go fish, solitaire, even magic tricks. The poker stuff's technically optional, but it adds a little flare, spice... risk, you get me?"

"Anyway, sorry to cut this short, but the Hanks booked me so they could do 'extreme pickup 52' or whatever they're calling it, so I gotta prepare."

On her way out, she pulls a pair of jokers out from the deck she'd been shuffling, then throws them at a nearby wall, embedding them into the wood.

As much as I appreciate her sitting around and looking pretty, it'd be nice if she had some relevance outside of being an extra pair of hands. I mean if you can make Joy, the Switch memey crossover, a more fleshed out and relevant character, then surely it couldn't be that hard?

Have her introduce someone, give her a mini-arc like the Palatuccis, hell have her give us a heist or something like Hoxton's Revenge, something! Her being a local should be an ace up the payday gang's sleeve, but I guess everyone's playing checkers, not cards...

Posted this elsewhere a day or two ago, figured I'd try here for a wider net, so to speak.

Been flicking through Ao3 for stuff about everyone's favorite Scottish saboteur for what feels like months now, and there's just... nothing new. With or without specific tags it's all just CaitVi; CaitVi with extra steps, CaitVi (Maddie is awful) and CaitVi (Maddie barely even appears). Most of the good ones I've read either were made years ago and were pre-act 3 reveal, or haven't been updated in up to a year.

Don't get me wrong, the good stufe I've read is bloody nice, love re-reading it every now and then but when there's nothing new to supplement that with... eugh.

I'll branch out into reading a bit of CaitVi, some CaitJinx and whatnot for a few weeks at most, but when I come back... you get the idea.

I've been trying to write my own but it's slow, and I've only got like 1 or 2 ideas rn. So similar to the title, I'd like to ask an additional question, anyone got any ideas for me to shamelessly steal use as a potential springboard?
