PD3 needs some more unique weapon variants

I'm not just saying that because we've only gotten what, 3 new(ish) ones since the game released? I think we could use new ones for both lore and bandaiding potential power creep in future.

Firstly, lore. Those 3 newer variants are all for heisters (Clover, Houston, Jacket) but I think they could be expanded to the rest of the gang, maybe to contractors as well. Add a blurb of character dialogue or background info about the weapon or how/why they got it, similar to what FC6 did with their unique weapons.

Secondly, unique variants of current and future DLC weapons. Maybe make them more expensive, 1.5-2x or something like that? Gives older players something to spend their cash on/add to their collections, gives newer ones even more to work towards. As for the DLC issue, non-owners get access to potentially powerful weapons at the cost of no customization, while owners have customization and access to multiple copies for different builds. Doesn't completely avoid power creep but does mitigate it somewhat, while still providing some incentive to buy the DLC.

Exodus Concept - The Weaponsmith's Assistant/Valeriya's Voyage

A dumb little(?) thing that'd been floating in my head for a little while, thought I'd exorcise it out to here.

‐‐-----------‐-------------------------------------------------------------------------

So, basic premise: Adding another member to the Aurora crew, Tokarev's assistant, Valeriya. Officially a scout/scavenger in the Spartan ranks, she spent most of her time either with Tokarev or scavenging for rarer weapon parts, and you can read a bit more about her here. She's dragged along with the others out of Moscow, but is taking it worse than most.

This is where she comes into things gameplay wise. Valeriya will swap between the Aurora and the various safehouses in Taiga and Caspian, offering recon info and some supplies depending on difficulty/condition. She can also potentially contribute to a good ending, as her condition is not affected by the karma/outcomes of each level. This condition? Her depression level.

It starts at a certain (invisible, like karma) number, then gradually goes down as the game progresses (x number per level). To amend this, listen to her (one sided cause Artyom) conversations, bring her parts (sacrificing some of your own for upgrades) and other requested items, or help out testing her weapon repairs (lure monster in to shoot).

Depending on your final number, you get one of 3 endings with her just before you start Novosibirsk.

- Good, where she's weary but cautiously optimisic for the future (and gives you modifications for the Bastard to make a VSV-lite, nice for New Game+)

- Neutral, where she's holding on but plans on leaving once all is said and done

- Bad... where she shoots herself.

Either the good or neutral endings would be canon.

For the glory of Knoxus (county)

Couldn't get her (fuckass) bob with a ponytail, so I settled for a style that was a bit more Noxian, which had it.

Still early days (relatively speaking) and I haven't gotten a beret or armor to replicate her uniform yet.

Dumb(?) ideas to justify Maddie (crack)ships

Random ass post, just got a bunch of ideas that I'm throwing out here, do with them as you will.

  • Maddie goes undercover to infiltrate Silco's crew, eventually gets caught by Sevika

  • Maddie being a double agent for Lest, by extension Mel

  • Chem Baron Maddie, in a heated rivalry with Margot

  • New maid Maddie to the Kiramman household, rumored to be a gold digger/black widow

  • Rival competition sharpshooter to Caitlyn and/or Jinx

... that's all I got at the moment, might update with an edit later.

Random Idea - Arcane Fallout (4)

Basic summary: Jinx is Sole Survivor, living with Vander and Isha in Zaun (not pre-war). Vander gets blammoed by synth Vi (who they thought was real/a friend) and Isha taken, Jinx knocked out and wakes up later. Story mostly follows fo4 plot until (what would've been the Kellogg) s2 ep3 type confrontation between Vi and Jinx, programming/memory conflictions lead to a standoff, escape and eventual teamup against the "Institute of Human Advancement", ran by Viktor and formerly Jayce (Vergil)

Institute's plan is to "advance humanity" (rule the wastes) and defend against a resurgence of Singed' Shimmer Mutant army, as well as acquire resources for newly discovered Hextech through fear tactics and sleeper agents, of which Isha is scheduled to be swapped as one with a synth and released as a "lost orhpan".

**Supporting Cast!**

- Ekko (Preston) leading the last of the Firelights (Minutemen)

- Caitlyn (Piper) as an investigative reporter for the Piltover Publicator, taking care of her elderly mother Cassandra

- Maddie (Cait) as a former Noxus soldier turned pitfighter (yeah at first glance Vi is the obvious choice, but it makes more sense when you think about it)

- Elder Ambessa (Maxson), Paladin Mel (Danse), Proctor Grayson (Ingram) and Head Scribe Heimer (Quinlan) of the Noxus Brotherhood, who have come to "contain" the creation of Hextech and unleashing of synths

- Sky (Curie) as a burgeoning wasteland scientist, looking to make new discoveries regarding the rumors/theories of Hextech

- Silco (Hancock) as the ruler of Zaun, alongside Sevika (Farenheit) and Lest (Magnolia), as well as Finn (Finn), Renni (Daisy), LeBlanc (KLE0) and Madame Margot (Irma)

- Mayor Marcus (McDonough) of Piltover

- Warwick (Strong) as a rebelling Shimmer Mutant

Edit: forgot someone

  • Detective Steb (Valentine) and assistant Loris, stoic and (mostly) silent P.Is
