I recently picked up payday 3 and all dlcs on sale at steam. I played 18 hours since Saturday. I have previously played hundreds of hours both payday 1 and payday 2. I have done all achievements in payday 1. Why people hating so much on payday 3, comparing to payday 2? For example from all series payday 1 is the best one for me but I do love payday 2 and I like payday 3. Each series has its own unique charm. I heard that release was awful for payday 3 but as of now I completed many heists with a friend who already played 600 hours. I can say the game is so much fun, stealth and loud way. So far I liked all heists.
I have to say, I really miss Skills 1.0. They worked perfectly with Armor 2.0, there were skills for speed and gadgets, weapons were more usable without having to rely on skills, and so on. We could reload on the run with any weapon, and we had an infinite double-barreled shotgun if you knew how to kill enemies properly.
There was a problem in that most players used the same skills, and some skills were too powerful, I agree with that.
But after 7 months of playing with Skills 2.0, I realize just how bland they are for me personally and all my friends. They work terribly with Armor 2.0, armor feels like it’s made of cardboard when you use them. To get some of the skills you need, you have to spend points on skills you won’t use. A lot of fun and useful skills are gone. There are a lot of identical skills that just tweak the numbers, and few skills that actually change the gameplay.
I understand the issues with Skills 1.0, but I really miss them. This isn’t just blind nostalgia, I understand what was wrong with them.
I’m just hoping for a rebalance of all armor and most of the skills, because playing Overkill often becomes no fun at all. The game has gotten harder, which is what we wanted. But it's gotten harder for the wrong reasons. Because they took away a lot of the good stuff from us.
Comes from the PD:TH Difficulty Mod
Even though the base game is massively on sale and many of its players seem to be saying it's actually fun to play now, I still just haven't been able to get over the feeling of betrayal from the original development decision to make this game online only to protect their digital monetization schemes knowing full well it was the opposite of what their player base wanted.
So much of what has happened with the failure of this game has felt like it serves them right for that decision. I find the claims that it would be too unfeasible to implement unconvincing given the amount of effort and development they have been willing to put into changing other aspects of the game.
The idea of investing so much time into the game while my progression is locked on their Nebula servers and could disappear should support be ended or that I am required to create a Nebula account just to try out the game single player does not appeal to me.
So even though I love this genre of game (PDTH, PD2, CB:RC), I haven't been able to bring myself to spend the 8.99 USD to grab it on sale (would it even be worth it without DLC anyways?).
I'm really curious to know how the rest of the community feels about this now.
Hear me out.
The Steam Deck is running the update surprisingly well. From what I've seen, it can hit around 60 FPS on High settings, with a lot of people choosing to lock it to 40 FPS for smoother frame pacing and better battery life.
That got me thinking.
If Diesel 3.0 can run that well on a Steam Deck, then a port to current-gen consoles like the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S should have more than enough horsepower to handle it. Obviously, that's not the same thing as saying a port is happening—there's a huge difference between can and will.
The biggest obstacle has probably never been the hardware. It's whether Starbreeze thinks it's worth the development time to bring years of PC updates over to modern consoles.
I'm not saying this is evidence that a port is in development. It's probably just me coping because I'd love to see the complete PC version on PS5 and Xbox Series consoles with 60 FPS, all the content, and cross-progression (if we're really dreaming).
Still... seeing the engine run well on lower-powered hardware gives me a little more hope than I had before.
Am I reading too much into this, or does anyone else think the technical side of a current-gen port looks more realistic now than it did a few years ago?
Edit: Added Diesel 3.0 explicitly
Right now dozers start showing up close to the end of the heist never a threat until then. So I figured bringing back the green dozer as a weaker version with 75 armor with a spaz 12G instant of 125 armor for blue dozer with a semi-auto shotgun.
What makes the green dozer different is that it will show up at the start of the wave with other special units like naders and tasers and ones the final charge starts it will switch the the blue dozer.
With the back up squad modify it will release ether 2 blues with one green. Or both blue and green or just two blue dozer.
Im looking for fun builds to try, imma post one of my latest which i think is very fun and chaotic to use, especially on maps with a lot of loose loot.
A throwing knife or loose loot to get adren going, or just pop down the medic bag.
Succesfully dodging fills the adrenaline, just keep running and sliding to increase dodge chance.
Keep blastin an reloading to pick up ammo boxes for easy knife refill. Rinse and repeat.
Great build to take heat off your teammates doing objectives. IMO.
Now i want to see your fun builds, whatever it might be, as long as you think its fun.
Edit: removed my gatekeeping of the definition for "fun"
If anybody wants to try my dumb mod, heres ya go sonny!
Stealth in older heists is boring because when you kill all the civilians and guards there is nothing for you to do. The only older heist that solves the problem is go bank, because you need to answer the phone and watch the street. There should be a new modifier added (like one down) that encourages you not to kill the civilians. If you kill the civilians you lose a percent of the xp and if you dont kill them you get an xp bonus. I think that its best for this idea to be a modifier because it would be annoyng for it to be a default feature.
Hi im new on the game i just want to ask if the heist have an order to make or i can make all the heist i want ?
