[Payday 3] Can't do Dirty Ice on Overkill Solo

Should preface that I'm not the biggest Payday player in the world. I've played some Payday 2 and did some stealth like Breaking Feds on the highest difficulty, but Payday 3's Dirty Ice I just cannot do on Overkill with it's current iterations.

The Civilian in the VIP Showroom is the biggest flaw with the entire heist. If they spot you, it's an instant restart. There is no counter to this. They stand around for so long, and unlike the guards, there's nothing you can do with them. It's really unfun and boring to deal with, and makes the heist a slog.

What makes it an actual issue outside of an inconvenience is the Head Guard. He RANDOMLY just walks into the VIP Showroom in such a way where there's no way to hide. It's really unfair and I'm giving up the heist because of it atm.

If someone can give me tips on how to deal with the Civilian and the Head Guard in the VIP Showroom, I'd greatly appreciate it. Running full stealth build if that helps, with the camera/raido/interference stuff.

The other thing I really need help with is how to Stealth the Main Room. No matter what I do, it's always (Observed) even if no one is looking at me. I've seen videos months ago of people easily clearing it, so I'm very confused how they're doing it. I try every position and it still is (Observed).

I appreciate any help, b/c as of right now I'm just giving up on it. Just too hard for me and brutally boring.

Why so much hate on payday 3?

I recently picked up payday 3 and all dlcs on sale at steam. I played 18 hours since Saturday. I have previously played hundreds of hours both payday 1 and payday 2. I have done all achievements in payday 1. Why people hating so much on payday 3, comparing to payday 2? For example from all series payday 1 is the best one for me but I do love payday 2 and I like payday 3. Each series has its own unique charm. I heard that release was awful for payday 3 but as of now I completed many heists with a friend who already played 600 hours. I can say the game is so much fun, stealth and loud way. So far I liked all heists.

Infamy grind

Best strat for infamy grind 25-100? Feels like holdout would be best for xp per minute, but holdout is boring as hell after about 10 minutes.

Seven months later, which do you prefer more? Skills 1.0 or Skills 2.0?

I have to say, I really miss Skills 1.0. They worked perfectly with Armor 2.0, there were skills for speed and gadgets, weapons were more usable without having to rely on skills, and so on. We could reload on the run with any weapon, and we had an infinite double-barreled shotgun if you knew how to kill enemies properly.

There was a problem in that most players used the same skills, and some skills were too powerful, I agree with that.

But after 7 months of playing with Skills 2.0, I realize just how bland they are for me personally and all my friends. They work terribly with Armor 2.0, armor feels like it’s made of cardboard when you use them. To get some of the skills you need, you have to spend points on skills you won’t use. A lot of fun and useful skills are gone. There are a lot of identical skills that just tweak the numbers, and few skills that actually change the gameplay.

I understand the issues with Skills 1.0, but I really miss them. This isn’t just blind nostalgia, I understand what was wrong with them.

I’m just hoping for a rebalance of all armor and most of the skills, because playing Overkill often becomes no fun at all. The game has gotten harder, which is what we wanted. But it's gotten harder for the wrong reasons. Because they took away a lot of the good stuff from us.

PD3 stealth build help

I'm trying to make a decent stealth build - what should I try and go for? I've included screenshots for my skill trees and weapons

I think 2027 is gonna be the year of 3 personally. by the time this year is over, the reworks will be done with and they can move on to the rest of the game.....I know y'all are laughing like "another payday 3 is back post" look, it LITERALLY cannot get any worse guys, it will get better from here

The p90 is in the works and will be add to PD3 in the future so Where should it be placed in the secondary or primary

There are probably 2 primary SMG that would be fine as secondary like the zip or compact 7 but like most people including my self we need more secondary weapons. But also primary weapons as well so why not make the p90 a primary and secondary weapon because it a good versatile weapon.

Are PD3 players fine with the game's online requirements now?

Even though the base game is massively on sale and many of its players seem to be saying it's actually fun to play now, I still just haven't been able to get over the feeling of betrayal from the original development decision to make this game online only to protect their digital monetization schemes knowing full well it was the opposite of what their player base wanted.

So much of what has happened with the failure of this game has felt like it serves them right for that decision. I find the claims that it would be too unfeasible to implement unconvincing given the amount of effort and development they have been willing to put into changing other aspects of the game.

The idea of investing so much time into the game while my progression is locked on their Nebula servers and could disappear should support be ended or that I am required to create a Nebula account just to try out the game single player does not appeal to me.

So even though I love this genre of game (PDTH, PD2, CB:RC), I haven't been able to bring myself to spend the 8.99 USD to grab it on sale (would it even be worth it without DLC anyways?).

I'm really curious to know how the rest of the community feels about this now.

Anyone else think the Steam Deck performance of the PAYDAY 2 Diesel Engine 3.0 update slightly improves the chances of a modern console port?

Hear me out.

The Steam Deck is running the update surprisingly well. From what I've seen, it can hit around 60 FPS on High settings, with a lot of people choosing to lock it to 40 FPS for smoother frame pacing and better battery life.

That got me thinking.

If Diesel 3.0 can run that well on a Steam Deck, then a port to current-gen consoles like the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S should have more than enough horsepower to handle it. Obviously, that's not the same thing as saying a port is happening—there's a huge difference between can and will.

The biggest obstacle has probably never been the hardware. It's whether Starbreeze thinks it's worth the development time to bring years of PC updates over to modern consoles.

I'm not saying this is evidence that a port is in development. It's probably just me coping because I'd love to see the complete PC version on PS5 and Xbox Series consoles with 60 FPS, all the content, and cross-progression (if we're really dreaming).

Still... seeing the engine run well on lower-powered hardware gives me a little more hope than I had before.

Am I reading too much into this, or does anyone else think the technical side of a current-gen port looks more realistic now than it did a few years ago?

Edit: Added Diesel 3.0 explicitly

I only played a bit before, but I came back because of the beta update. I forgot what this coin does.

Should the green bulldozer come back to PD3.

Right now dozers start showing up close to the end of the heist never a threat until then. So I figured bringing back the green dozer as a weaker version with 75 armor with a spaz 12G instant of 125 armor for blue dozer with a semi-auto shotgun.

What makes the green dozer different is that it will show up at the start of the wave with other special units like naders and tasers and ones the final charge starts it will switch the the blue dozer.

With the back up squad modify it will release ether 2 blues with one green. Or both blue and green or just two blue dozer.
