changing motor in a small town for an e bike

I want to help my son change the motor for his e-bike, and I just realized that this is probably a lot more complicated than I had expected. We wanted to just rely on the bike shop but there are only a few in the small town he lives in, and the one that we wanted to go to, the guy doesn't seem very knowledg, eable when it comes to changing motors he mostly just knows about brand-new bikes and their specs, not what to do when something goes wrong.

He has no information about parts or where to order them from. I asked usually where people order parts from, and he mentioned an online site that sources them from sites like amazon or alibaba, and I am not sure that is a good idea since we would then need to confirm the warranty. Just wanted to educate myself more so if anyone could suggest some sites, his bike is a: Orbea

Electric motor replacement: what is important to remember?

My grandson's e-bike recently had what I think is a brushless DC motor fail and earlier I had ordered a replacement but I wanted to make sure to order the correct replacement part so that I do not end up replacing it again a few months later.

I know that I can't just purchase a motor and assume it will work, I will probably also talk to the bike shop where we bought the bike but I would like to be educated myself before I do that. I would need to get something as close to the original as possible. What exact specifications would I need to match, like what should I be looking for? Voltage, wattage, hub size, RPM, controller compatibility, connectors, wheel size, and torque rating. I want to make sure I order it from an actual e-bike online site and not some third party retail site that may provide parts to vendors like walmart, amazon or alibaba.
