I’m going car camping and was wondering about using the 120 volt outlet for a 1000 watt electric cooking element or maybe a small air fryer. Technically its rated output is fine for that but I don’t want to end up with a dead battery or glitched car with some blown fusing stopping me from getting home. Anybody tested it out much?
I’m planning on building a Home lab, partly for fun, partly for parental controls, and partly for privacy. I’m currently planning to run Opensense router, pi-hole and tail scale and I’d also like to set up a file server. The file server would be for storing family pictures, etc. and also for security cameras recording as there’s been growing issues in my neighbourhood but I don’t want to add any cameras besides a doorbell cam until I’ve got a local server set up for storage. Right now I’m thinking of running open sense Tail-scale, and pi-hole on one machine with Proxmox and then having a separate machine for the file server. Is there any reason I should rearrange that, have more machines, different combinations, etc? Any tips, guides or tricks people wanna share for this process I’d be happy to hear too.
