I know it hasn't even been 24 hours since the doors shut on the 2026 D23 Expo, but I wanted to ask how everyone felt about the subreddit itself. What worked well and what didn't these last few days. What content did you like, dislike, or would think would be helpful with future Expos? What mod actions were good, bad, or didn't go far enough? Let us know in the comments below so we can consider what we, as Mods, can do better for you all in 2028 and beyond.

Please note that some/all stores are asking to see you click thru on the app to your boarding group code. They were not accepting screenshots (or so was the case for me when I went to Mickey's of Glendale Pin). As such, be careful if trading as the VQ booking group owner will have to physically be there in order to get into these locations. Or at the very least, physically there to tap you in.

Hi all, this morning we received a lot of individual posts for VQ requests. This buried other important information. Starting tomorrow, we will be using a daily Megathread for all VQ +1 requests. Please use the Megathread if you have a +1 to trade/sell, or are looking to jump in as someone’s +1.

We didn’t delete today’s posts simply because we didn’t say it wasn’t allowed. Starting tomorrow, individual VQ requests will be deleted.

If you’re unaware, guests entering from Grand Plaza were originally directed to queue in North 100 basement. At a certain point, Grand Plaza guests were halted and it appeared only Katella guests were funneled into North 100. This meant a large group was held directly in front of the ACC and the security line backed up the Clarion parking lot.

Just after 9am, when the convention opened, the doors opened and guests in Grand Plaza were allowed in. This meant that if you lined up at 6:30 and went to North Plaza, you were let in after people who arrived at like 8 and held in Grand Plaza.

On top of that, lines in the basement weren’t managed. So once a line started moving, people in adjacent lines jumped into the back of moving lines until things cascaded into a rush of people leaving.

1. if you were unhappy with the situation, stop by guest services and let them know they need to adjust how they handle the logistics for the rest of the weekend.

If it's like last expo, it's going to be an exercise in persistence and patience. Things will go very quickly. And new things are likely to appear randomly and sporadically throughout the day. Good luck.

Attendees who participated in the RSP process between July 20th and 26th should begin receiving emails on August 7th notifying them which reservation selections they have been awarded. Please use this thread to trade, give, or request any reservations. Individual posts will be deleted and submitters will be directed here. This is done to keep the sub from being flooded with reservation requests.

If I remember correctly, reservations could not be traded digitally and any sharing of transactions usually required meeting in person at the Expo and then going to the reserved panel/experience together. This involved exchanging contact information or having some means of communication on the day of the Expo. As always, please be vigilant, cautious, and mindful with personal details when coordinating with others. Also, I heard one story of a person who shared their experience and then when it came time for the other person to share theirs, they were a no show. I'm not sure what can be done to protect against that, but best to be aware of the potential for shady behavior.

RESERVATION SALES

One thing from past Expos was the sale of reservations. This wasn't as prevalent last time since the major showcases moved to Honda Center and require a ticket. However, if you somehow do engage in the purchase of someone's reservation, please protect yourself by using PayPal/Venmo Goods & Services to minimize the risk of fraud.

Just a housekeeping reminder, subreddits are limited to two stickied comments. There are usually about 3-4 posts we wish could be stickied at any given time. Sticky posts are based on timeliness of news and overall usefulness. Unfortunately that means some content gets dropped from the top (temporarily).

All important information is aggregated in our Consolidated link which (barring some days like today) will always be stickied at the top and we still ask users to post in the individual respective megathreads even if they're not immediately visible.
