Tattoo of Cat

Tattoo of Cat

Got this at Hopeless Tattoo in Vancouver WA, (which has won best tattoo shop in our city several years). I'm sorry that I don't remember the artist's name :(

It's a little hard to see, but they have a small negative space line for the eyes and the back legs. Anything thin, especially negative space is going to be hard to see and blur out eventually, so I want to say this is not a mistake by the artist, just inherent to the medium! I am very happy the artist convinced me to add color, because I was set on only having pure black tattoos. The grey for the blood background and the blood and heart being red makes it sooo much better. I am very happy with this tattoo <3 It's 1-2 years old

Short Marvel Comic, named after a specific year, about OUR(?) world's first mutant

Age:
For reference I read this as a kid with my dad, I'm 27, so it is at least 20 something years old. I think I remember it being "old" in the first place, but a child's conception of "old" is a little skewed.

Length:
It was either a small run or a one-shot. I only remember holding one comic, but that may not be accurate. It had a tidy dramatic end, so I don't think it was a long run, but who knows...

Name:
I can only remember that it was a year, and that felt prominent to me; I only referred to it by the year. There may have been a sub-title or that may have been the sub-title. The year was at most in the 1900s, for sure not 2000s, I think it was set in the past or had flashbacks to it.

Plot/Setting:
It's set in our world, (or we're supposed to think that), and I'm fairly sure Marvel Comics exists in that world.

I remember there being a 2-3 story house, very nicely built but perhaps decapitated in some way, maybe covered in ivy. I remember it being night. There might have been a scene with the house nicer in the past to contrast it. It had a spire and a front deck; Nice trim, fancy shapes. It was like those old houses in Portland/Spokane but nicer and bigger. The house was in a forest pretty secluded.

I think someone is moving into the house after not having been there for a long time.

There were at least two relatives, both men. Brothers, or father and adult son, (or both in some combination). The younger of them had a son no older than 12 who felt like the most important character to me, (maybe bc I was a kid).

There was an older family member with some kind of mental disability or derangement who ended up being the first mutant of that/our world. Someone so powerful they'll likely destroy the world/humanity. The power maybe destroyed his mind, and for sure is not something he could control. Professor X explained all this leading up to the grand finally, basically telling the MC they have to stop/kill this guy and revealing bad stuff about their family history.

There are themes of family conflict, maybe abuse. Very negative vibes with maybe some bittersweet stuff.

The little kid meets The Hulk randomly, and a few more heroes show up which is sort of a mystery element for a second. In this universe I think Marvel Comics exists, so it's very soy for the kid. At the end a bunch of heroes come through a portal for a big battle in the woods and I remember soying all over the place. This section of the plot was the most impactful for me.

Issue Finding It:
I looked up "all Marvel comics," but there were only a few based on years and none of the plot summaries I skimmed seemed like the right thing. The things that were important to me about the story may not have been the intended focus.
