Updating to new Clone Hero versions is jarring
I'd be perfectly happy never upgrading my clone hero version, but there are some engine changes that prevent me from FC'ing some newer charts (for instance, older versions of Clone Hero don't support "open chords" where you play an open and fretted note at the same time). I'll list the Clone Hero versions I'm talking about at the bottom.
Audio is quieter on new versions. Not a big deal, but something to note is that you'll have to muck around with your audio balancing.
Star power lightning on the new version looks like some low effort vibe slop, to be honest. Not sure what's up with it, but it's like the framerate is ass and it's way chunkier. I genuinely can't play with it on, and I love the way it looked on the old version.
Rather confusing that you can't change the background and turn no fail mode on when in leaderboard mode. I just thought those settings were broken for a hot minute.
I think the leaderboard support is awesome, and I love the fact that it's optional. But for some of these other changes... if ain't broke, don't fix it? I wish I could have the look and feel of my old CH version, but with the engine and leaderboard updates from newer versions.
I'm being a bit critical, and I understand that beggars can't be choosers, but I just wanted to share my experience as a Clone Hero fan.
