Finally bought my cabin in the woods.
I’ve been looking for years and finally pulled the trigger on a beautiful 21 acre waterfront property with an unfinished cabin on it. I will only be able to use it as a weekend property for quite a long time as my career ties me to the city, but I plan on fixing up the cabin and making it liveable, then eventually replacing it with a small 4 season fully off-grid home that I can retire to. Ultimately it will have a septic system and a well if possible. The lake is small, motor free and spring fed so it will be a great source of water. I can’t believe this is happening! It’s a life long dream come true.
I’ll be closely following this subreddit for ideas on pulling water from the lake and fixing the plumbing as well as getting a proper solar setup done. The cabin is wired for solar power but the current setup is seriously lacking. The composting toilet will be staying. lol
