cafe use ban

hi everyone. I have a question.

recently our SD said that no employees are allowed to sit in the Starbucks at any point in time on days they work, including off the clock. even if you buy something and are out of uniform. we still haven’t asked about stipulations such as coming in on off days.

my partner comes to work with me and does university work in the cafe while I am on the clock. under this rule, do I have to drag them outside to see me on break? am I suddenly allowed to break the “rule”?

the real question is: have any of your SDs done this? we are in california and this is the first time we’re hearing of this. they also just redid the entire cafe to make it pretty but infinitely less efficient, half the seating, and none of the broken machines have been fixed during the two month closure. the leaking ice machine flooding the backroom is begging to pay out some worker’s comp.

I don’t expect any responses to change the outcome because it is technically legal but I am simply curious if anyone has dealt with this. when we are off the clock & have bought things we are essentially guests so we are confused why we’d be banned.

brilliant business idea

Let’s sell three refreshers and make sure the colors are as close to each other as possible. I’m thinking pink/purple adjacent. Thoughts?

hello?!!???!!

Starbucks: make the moment right :)
Also Starbucks: make the customer call customer service to get a refund for a fucking croissant :)

What the literal actual fuck. Calling customer service is not the fucking best way to get a refund. Jesus fucking christ……. you’re kidding. Is having the wrong amount of items on hand seriously worth turning baristas into the bad guy & ruining the day of customers??

Starbucks: we limited the menu :)
Also Starbucks: we can make everything we used to but we have to put all the details in manually and we introduced so many new core items we don’t have room for them :)

Starbucks: the unicorn cake pop pairs well with new drinks :)
Also Starbucks: it’s the same fucking flavor as all of the other cake pops :)

What is the point of the butterfly pea extract if it has no flavor. Looks aren’t a valid excuse for me to be prepping something that takes up space for no good reason. “You can’t use it as a custom modifier” my ass… they’re going to backtrack on that in the first week. Also, there’s no reason on God’s green earth why I can’t put it in a tea or a refresher.

“Don’t add pearls to hot drinks like an espresso over ice.” So that’s actually not a hot drink! It’d be fucking nasty, but there’s nothing stopping me from doing that. The pearls will remain intact.

I hate this company, holy shit.

Edit to add: I especially love how all the refresher bases are pink-ish. Super chic. Not confusing at all in a rush/for greenbeans.
