honest review of Nuropod - great tech but pricey

honest review of Nuropod - great tech but pricey

I’ve been following Bryan Johnson’s biohacking stuff for a while and always wanted to try the vagus nerve stimulation device he uses for stress and anxiety. He uses Nuropod, so I decided to try it as well. Been testing it out for about two and a half months now

Nuropod - pricey vagus nerve stimulation device that helps you feel calmer and less stressed within 10 minutes. You can use this biohacking tool every day, even when working

things I like about device:

-I am feeling calmer after using it. I thought it would be a total waste of money, but 10 minutes in, my body just feels calmer and relaxed

-Nuropod is easy to use while working. You don't have to lie down or use gels. Just wet the clip, put it on your ear, and get back to work

-Feels legit. It's actual medical gear, so it feels like a real treatment instead of just a vibrating toy

things I didn’t like about Nuropod:

-Its expensive. $900 is a crazy amount of money for what looks like a tiny remote and an ear clip. even if you find a discount, the regular price is just too high for most people

-It can sting. If you turn it up too fast, it goes from a gentle pulse to a sharp pinch really quick. push it too far and you'll get a mild headache, so you have to be careful with the settings

TL;DR: if you experience stress or anxiety and like biohacking, Nuropod is a solid 7.5 or 8 out of 10 because it actually works. But if don’t want to spend a lot of money or you are just curious, try free stuff like breathwork or cheaper vagus nerve stimulation devices first

Ringconn after 2 months of use

got tired of charging my apple watch SE every night and having something on my wrist all day for the last 4 years. wanted to try a smart ring for ages, so I finally got the RingConn about two months ago

RingConn - solid titanium smart ring imo that tracks multiple health metrics like sleep, heart rate and stress and has no subscription

I have been wearing this smart ring for 2 months already and thought I might share my opinion about it

What I like:

-I forget I am wearing it. it's light, it doesn't bother me when I lift or type, and I sleep with it no problem

-battery life is great. RingConn claims 12 days, I get closer to 8-9 depending on how much I check the app

-sleep tracking is what I open every morning. after a couple of weeks, the data actually started matching how I felt

-stress score is useful. a few times it flagged I was stressed before I noticed myself

-No subscription, every feature is just there in the app

What I didn't like about RingConn:

-The app doesn't sync with Apple Health or Google Fit. Your data lives inside the RingConn app and nowhere else.

-no screen, so you always need your phone to see anything.

-it scratches easier than I expected. after two months of daily wear, mine already has small marks on it

-Fitness tracking is basic. it tracks steps and calorie estimates, but nothing detailed for workouts

Tips:

-order the free sizing kit and wear the sample for a full day before picking a size. I went half a size up from my morning size and it's perfect.

-Wear it on your non-dominant hand. you'll get cleaner data because it's not getting bumped around as much.

-Give it at least two weeks before judging it. first few days are the ring figuring out your baseline.

After trying RingConn for two months, I decided to keep it. It's not perfect, but for sleep, stress, and a general sense of how my body is doing week to week, it does exactly what I wanted without charging me every month for it

Anyone here using Ringconn as well and having different opinion?
