After reading and learning about the civil war, i fully understand why qabyaalad is so ingrained in our elders.

Ive been reading about somalilands war with barres regime and hawiye/darod clashes and rahanweyne ethnic cleansing post 91 and this stuff is just grim. I understand why our elders stick to their own and hate other somalis. Do you guys think Somalis can ever look past what used to happen? Or we'll stay divided and keep fighting eachother

Swedish aviator killed in Gode during the Ogaden war. Ethiopian imperial palace in Godey subsequently destroyed

Count Carl Gustaf von Rosen (1909–1977) was a Swedish pilot, humanitarian, and military adventurer. He flew dangerous humanitarian relief and combat missions across multiple global conflicts. In 1946, he was appointed by Emperor Haile Selassie as chief instructor to help build and organize the modern Imperial Ethiopian Air Force from the ground up.Von Rosen and an Ethiopian delegation spent the evening of 13 July in the Kaiser Villa (Imperial palace of godey). It was the day on which the Liberation Front launched the general attack on Gode.

"One detachment," said WSLF commander Abdullahi , "also attacked the palace." Von Rosen stayed in a room on the ground floor and fired from the window. "He was very brave," Abdullahi said, "but of course he did not succeed in taking the life of a Somali. But we were unfortunately forced to kill him."

Archeology in Somalia

Theoretically will it be feasible for me as a diaspora to travel all over somalia and possibly get into archeology? Im fascinated on how rich somalia is in history. The kacaan had several archeologists come to somalia for work such as Neville Chittick and im just so fascinated by their work.

When Somalis turn woke, they always do this. Why?

I genuinely want to understand why Somalis fixate on one particular thing when speaking about the state of our country, and thats religion and "wahhabism". Im not here to defend wahhabism or salafiyyah and i couldnt care less about it, but why do Somalis blame the dire state of our country on it when thats just entirely false? Im sure you guys seen that Somali kid on tiktok whos been getting hundreds of thousands of likes associating Somalias disorder and collapse with wahhabism. And what makes me angry is how theres so many ajnabis in the comments racking up to 100k likes each, blaming the situation on religion when thats totally false. And instead of raising awareness about the actual issues that leave our country in the state its been in for decades such as qabiil, corruption, invasions, colonial inheretence killing, ect, they just blame it on religion.
