Did anybody here get smart locks and then regret it? For example
- did they malfunction?
- did they run out of battery?
- were they hassle?
My biggest worry is them running out of battery, or the WiFi being down so they can t connect and get a new code. Things like that.

Until recently, my cover photo was my ‘thumbnail’ photo, the photo that shows up in search.
Out of interest, I logged on to my computer in incognito mode, and to my horror, the thumbnail was a ‘nothing photo’, a photo that no guest in their right mind would click on to get to my listing.
I contacted support, and was told that Airbnb now uses AI to determine the ‘best’ photo, and hosts can not opt out of this 🙄 in the meantime I’m bleeding bookings. Support suggested I could ‘try’ and change the cover photo to a different one, wait an hour, and change it back. And it seemed to fix it, on my computer, so I was happy and moved on.
Today (a week later) I’ve logged in on my phone (again incognito) on both the website and app (new account) and the bad thumbnail is back.
I’m planning on deleting that photo and then seeing what happens. It’s a joke…

Thanks everybody for the helpful comments. In the end I took @shimmi44’s advice and deleted all the photos, and uploaded them again. It seems to have worked., but the real test will be if it’s still working in 1 week or 1 month. Fingers crossed 🤞🙏
Airbnb seems to have recently removed the ability to see a guest rating? This is very confusing to me, why would they do that?
There are already services out there that allow us to see the reviews left by customers for their stays, I was wondering if anybody has found a service that would show guest review scores?
