I’m coming to Sicily from August 20-26 and will be in Palermo/Scopello/Trapani, definitely eager to go to Favignana and maybe San Vito Lo Capo
I understand it will be very hot, but I’m more concerned about the amount of people - is it just chaotic? What’s it going to be like?
Is it going to be terrible due to crowds? Any tips on how to best manage this trip?
I’m walking in August, Vigo to Santiago - I want to book private rooms in advance, but most of the rooms available that I’ve been able to book as a refundable booking are hotels….
As it’s summer, I don’t want to risk not having a bed - is it possible to be social and get dinner with other pilgrims/build connections without staying in albergues?
Can I get a private room in an albergue as a walk in? Or are these ALL booked up in advance?
Hi, I’m tossing up between going to Puglia or Sicily in August. I’ve already got leave booked which I can’t change, and I want to go to these places. I’m going August 20-26 so hopefully it’s a little bit less busy than earlier in the month 😅
Which would be better to visit:
A. Puglia (Monopoli/Polignano A Mare/Ostuni/Otranto/Lecce/Matera)
B. Sicily (Palermo/Favignana/Scopello/San Vito Lo Capo/Zingarro)

I’m walking from Vigo to Santiago in August, I’d much prefer private rooms but I want the communal aspect of an albergue
- how should I go about booking?
- how far in advance should I book?
I’ve always wanted to do a leg of the Camino ending in Santiago, I’ve got the leave booked in and will be doing the walk from Vigo > Arcade > Pontevedra > Caldas De Reis > Padron > Santiago

- how hard are the 20-25km walking days? Are they relatively manageable? Is there significant incline?
