Different types of oats and how they affect appetite?
I know lots of people say oats are filling while others say the exact opposite. I recently learned there's a difference between quick/instant oats and larger steel cut or rolled oats. Quick or instant oats cause a sharper glucose spike compared to the less processed versions. The nutrition may be more or less the same, but they digest at different speeds.
My question is, how do you typically have your oats and how filling do you find them? How do you prepare your oats and what do you add to them etc?
Instant oats don't keep my hunger away the same way overnight rolled oats do, that much I've noticed. I've been doing a lower carb overnight oatmeal, using around 0,5dl rolled oats and 0,5dl ground flax and a scoop of protein powder with some milk, sometimes adding cinnamon or cacao powder or something and it curbs my appetite dang well.
