Can we stop turning every little thing involving Manon into a victim narrative?

You guys are starting to overdramatize the Manon situation a lot and honestly it’s getting kinda
exhausting at this point.

First of all, I wanna start by saying I miss Manon too. I miss her beauty, her charisma, her humor, and the energy she brings to the group. Whenever the girls post videos I catch myself looking for her automatically. But aside from that, some of you are seriously exaggerating certain situations.

For example, the Glossier promo. Manon wasn’t there because she literally wasn’t there 😭 so obviously she wasn’t included in the photos. And since she was absent, the girls probably posed in a way where only their faces were visible so the pictures would look aesthetically balanced. The group literally said in the Jollibee interview that when one member is sick, they prioritize their health and the rest cover for them while activities continue. Megan also missed some group activities when she was sick. At the end of the day this is still a GROUP. They are not gonna reschedule every single activity because one member can’t attend.

And the Gabriela dance performance discourse is honestly one of the dumbest things I’ve seen people complain about. The girls were dancing. DANCING. Were they supposed to force injured Manon to dance? Or film her sitting in the background while everyone else performs?? It wasn’t a music video. Lara participated in a music video while she wasn’t feeling well, but that’s completely different because you don’t have to actively perform choreography the same way you do in a dance performance video. Those are two totally different situations.
Also Daniella missed a performance video once too, and Manon even covered some of her parts. So this is clearly not something that only happened to Manon.

As for the TikTok thing… the girls themselves film a lot of those videos and usually come up with the ideas too. (Sophia said this) If Manon isn’t in every TikTok maybe she just isn’t that interested in filming them, and honestly that’s fine. It’s probably her own choice. If they’re not forcing her into every video then good?? Same with dance collabs. I genuinely think the girls who LIKE dancing choose to participate more. Daniella, Yoonchae and Megan are constantly doing dance collabs because they clearly enjoy it and choose to do it. If Manon doesn’t want to, that’s her decision too.

The Season’s Greetings “selfish” thing was weird af though, I agree. But they didn’t only write it for Manon, they also wrote it for Yoonchae. Either way it was a strange choice and I genuinely don’t understand why they thought that was a good idea 😭

The Monster High promo situation is the only one that still feels genuinely weird to me too. But I read a comment saying the character they picked apparently has a negative meaning in Ghanaian culture, so maybe the company got scared of backlash and decided not to include Manon last minute because they didn’t want accusations of racism or a huge controversy. I don’t know if that’s true obviously, but if it is, then the real issue is that they apparently didn’t research the character properly beforehand because THAT is what’s actually stupid and deserves criticism.

But the idea that they are intentionally excluding Manon from everything just doesn’t make sense to me. At the end of the day she’s one of the main faces/centers of most promos and usually gets some of the best styling too. Why would you intentionally exclude someone you clearly use as one of the group’s visuals?

And yeah, I agree about the debut MV. Manon being placed in the back so much didn’t look great and honestly it was kinda sad to watch. Maybe at the time they thought her dance skills weren’t as strong as the other girls yet and didn’t want her to stand out during live performances, I really don’t know. But regardless of the reason, it still didn’t look good.

Overall I just think some of you are turning every single thing into proof that she’s being victimized and it’s getting excessive. Of course we don’t know what happens behind the scenes and yes, Manon genuinely COULD have experienced unfair treatment. The entertainment industry is terrible so I wouldn’t be shocked at all. But some of the examples people bring up are nowhere near as dramatic as y’all try to make them seem. Stop trying to manipulate people emotionally over every little thing.
