Vinyl Record Collection

Looking for homeowner’s insurance that will cover my vinyl collection (median 40k range per Discogs). Current insurer had a rider that covered only up to 20k so now covered under general contents only.

I’ve been shopping around and can find no insurers that will provide a rider without a formal appraisal. A Discogs collection excel export will not suffice. I don’t know of any appraiser in Canada let alone in NS where I live that will do this. Some insurers I have spoken with were also unable to confirm if I would even be covered under general contents, saying it would be verified only in the event of a claim!

I have spoken with the following companies who have been a no go: TD, Belair, Aviva and CAA, among others. I have searched Reddit and Vinyl groups on Facebook to make a list of who to call but after 7+ quotes, I am giving up hope.

So if you have obtained a policy with a rider for your collection in the last few years or have obtained an appraisal in NS, please let me know who you used. Better yet, if you can give me the name of an agent or broker you used.

Adding: I have never been able to locate an appraiser in my area who will appraise vinyl records. Unless you can direct me to one, even within Canada, recommending an appraisal is not useful.
