Nylon/Spandex lining: awhich side of the fabric to use?

I’m using a nylon spandex blend for the head’s lining (upcycled from thrifted athletic wear).
I know that outer side repels moisture and inner side pulls sweat away from your skin; given this, should the moisture repelling side face the wearer or the foam itself?

I’m considering having the repelling part touching my face. My reasoning is, if the repelling part is touching the foam, then the fabric would wick moisture away from my face into the foam. Having it inside out would prevent the moisture from getting into the foam itself.

But I’m not sure if it actually works like that LOL

I’ve also read that having the repelling side face inward could negatively impact breathability/comfort.

I lack the maker & suiting experience to make an appropriately informed decision on my own.

What would you do in this situation?

I’m planning on getting a balaclava to wear in addition to lining for cleanliness reasons so it’s prolly not a huge deal either way in the end LOL. Any input appreciated!!
