My cry for help - BV for 2+ years
Hello,
I (25F) used some medicine to numb my urethra when I had a UTI over two years ago, which then launched a horrible yeast infection. I went to get tested and it took two gynecologists to even get read positive for yeast before I got medicine. Took way too long for that to happen.
Ever since then, I have not gotten back to normal. The yeast has come back a couple times, but it’s mostly the BV that has overstayed its welcome. I’ve tested positive for it several times. I’m aware there’s likely a biofilm there that’s messing up everything. There really isn’t any pain or itching - I can only describe it like I can feel the bacteria trying to eat me away from the inside. It feels completely disgusting. It does however hurt when I get swabbed which never caused any pain before all this.
I have tried most solutions. Clindamyacin cream only helps to an extent before it gets worse again. I take a women’s probiotic (contains acidophilus), NAC, and crispatus. I drink alkaline water every day. I switched to cotton underwear. I tried boric acid and even lactic acid.
I cannot take this anymore. I already deal with a sweaty crotch and the unfortunate smell that comes with it, and I’ve been dealing with this on top it.
PLEASE advise if you know anything that could help.
Also for context: never had sex or have even put anything other than a tampon up there. Even doing that for more than one day causes irritation so I rarely insert them anymore. Never tested positive for STDs. Also used Evvy at the beginning of the year and it came back as bacteria related to BV.
