Transmission failure 10AT

Wanted to share my experience with my 2020 Touring, which, until now, was flawless.

Car at 81,000 km (50k miles). No mods, purchased brand new. All dealership services. Contracted an extended warranty (thank God!), which expires this July.

During a normal commute, noticed that the transmission jerked after coming out of a toll booth stop. But then kept driving normally, no warning lights or other symptoms. A bit later, car suddenly went back to first gear when reduced speed, wouldn't go to second, even with the paddles. Had to get it towed to dealership.

Took them three weeks to diagnose, partly because they were waiting to get a pre-owned to start to switch parts, which I strongly objected as they had no timeline and sounded like just trial and error. Finally got today the notification that the whole transmission was approved to be changed by the extended warranty (which learned it's a third party insurance, which delayed the process even more).

Important fact: Transmission fluid was changed in March at the dealership per the maintenance schedule. Didn't notice any issues until the failure, but very suspicious something was done wrong.

Now another 3-4 weeks to wait for the tranny to show up...
