My 2016 experience
This happened to me about ten years ago. I've shared it with perhaps 20 people since then. Just decided to come back to Reddit. Maybe 10 posts in many years. Just popped in my head to share it with people here in case you are interested.
I flew into Las Vegas from Virginia to go see four concerts that were in California. Two in Irvine and Chula Vista, and the others in Shoreline and Wheatland up North. I fly into Vegas because there are cheaper flights, and I get a better deal on renting a car.
I go to the shows. Great time all around. I'm solo, and it's been grand. Now it's July 1, 2016 and I've gotta get back to Vegas. I have two basic choices. I can reverse my route and head down to LA. Quickest way for sure. The thing is, I've never been to Yosemite Park so I decide to cut through. First time. I'm just GPS'ing my way home, but I have it saved in case I lose service. I cut over to Rt. 95 south heading towards Vegas.
It's darker than dark outside. Pitch black except starts everywhere. It was honestly kind of scary because I was all alone. No cell phone service. A two lane highway with absolutely no lights. Maybe one every 10 miles. Also no cars. Passed one every 20 minutes.
I'm driving and I can kind of see where Vegas is because I can see some dim lights over the horizon. I can just see they are behind a large mountain range.
All of a sudden, this thing drops out of the atmosphere. Instantly. I don't even know how to put it into words. A millisecond from wayyyyy up there and then it comes to a complete full stop above the mountain range. It's glowing and whitish, and I'm almost being blinded by looking at it even though it was probably 100-200 miles away. It's large because it seems even large at it's distance.
It hovers there for about a minute. I feel like it's aware of me and looking at my car, but I'm also thinking about the view from where it was, and there was a lot more than me going on. It's so bright, I can't really drive. I'm about to pull over, but then it shoots back up but not out of sight. Just from the mountain range to 3/4 of the way back up. I had to tilt my head back but I could still see it. Still pulsing. Still bright. Almost pulsing at a rate that reminded me of a heartbeat or breathing. All the usual things you hear about. No sign of propulsion. Defied what I know about gravity. Went
I did think about getting out of the car to take a video, but then I would be that guy with a shaky iphone video with some light in the distance. No perspective, no real visual, no definition. I knew right away it wouldn't make a difference.
Then it comes back down to the mountain range. I'm perplexed. This does not belong to our planet unless we are SO FAR AHEAD of where the public (and myself) think we are. We're talking hundreds of miles per second.
The final kick in the pants is it then shoots over my head. I have a sunroof open for the stars, and I can see the light swoosh by. Just a flicker. Then I see it in my rearview mirror and it's a hundred miles behind me. Stopped and hovering again.
I can't stare in my mirror because I don't want to crash, but when I look back, it shoots away.
I know it wasn't a laser. A light. A human craft. A reflection. This was a "Thing"
I got to my hotel a couple hours later and told the guy at the desk. I thought he was going to laugh at me, but this was his exact quote. "Dude, go on YouTube and you look up Las Vegas UFO sightings and you will see hundreds of them."
He was right. There were. So many. All kinds.
He said, "Nobody cares. Everyone is just living their life and don't pay attention to things unless it directly affects them"
Only two people I told actually believed me I think. Made me sad. One was an Uber passenger. I drover Uber for a couple years. This guy was on his way to Vegas so I told him the story. Here's what he said to me. "Greg, this is a great example of you never know who you are going to meet." He told me his Dad worked for the government at one of the bases for his entire career. He never discussed it once. Couldn't. One day, all the family got a phone call to come over to his house when he was in his nineties. He told me he thought it was a will discussion. Once his Dad had them all in the room, he told them he was dying but still had about six months and he couldn't bear the thought of leaving without coming clean. He looked them all in the eye and said, "I can't show you proof. I don't have pictures or anything like that. I can tell you that Aliens are real, though. 100% I've touched both them and their ships."
My passenger looked at me and told me that he knew his father. He wasn't lying. Had no reason to. He was convinced from that point forward.
He was the first person to believe me, have some similar experiences, and know what I was talking about.
That's it.
One last footnote which is odd to me. Several years ago, I believe 2003, there was a lot of media footage about an alien sighting in Vegas. Now, when you go to YouTube and look up Las Vegas ufo footage, ALL YOU GET is stuff about that specific incident. You have to go pages and pages and pages down to get anything else. I'm sure there have been recent videos posted. Why aren't they being shown?
Just makes me curious... Anyway, just wanted to share. If you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer them.
