I’m tired of this, grandpa.
So, another month has come to an end and man, do I hate this commission change. My monthly paychecks have cut in half since the 1at change happened. I was getting $4,000 to $6,000 paychecks before (I’m talking take home pay after taxes and health insurance bi weekly) and now I’m getting one $1200 paycheck and then one commission paycheck at the end of the month for maybe $2,500 to $3,000. I went from $10,000 a month to maybe $3,700 or $4,200 if I’m lucky. I don’t understand how they can change so much so fast and think we can just gloss over it and say “well you are being trained to sell more stuff to make up for that” and yet I’m still get direct auto calls from people who only want $35 insurance or nothing. These people don’t want to insure their house, boat, motorcycle, or get damn VIP. These people don’t HAVE a home they own, let alone a boat or anything else and THEY CANT AFFORD THE POLICY IM QUOTING THEM ALREADY. I feel like I’m screaming into the void here. I mention it in meetings and I get the usual response of well now you can sell more and you get points for bundling so now you can do that instead. Great, cool, amazing. Yet here I am, not able to do that because of the calls I’m getting. And I still got MORE with the old points system from selling one auto policy vs selling an auto and home owners. I get more points selling an auto policy with NGIC or direct now even after they took our points away; vs selling one auto and/or renters with Allstate. I just feel like I was lied to when I got hired on. I was “set up for success” and man, was it great. Until it wasn’t and now I’m left financially exhausted because while I get paid money, it’s not worth the same. They want me selling everything and pushing this and that and KPI this or KPI that and oh don’t forget to watch your acw and bundle rates and and and! I’m just goddamn tired. I’m so damn tired.
