is €1000/month rent ok for a central studio in Eindhoven?
So I’m moving to Eindhoven this year for my master’s (non eu) and I think I found a place, but I wanted to run it past people here before I commit to anything.
It’s the top floor of a 3-story house. basically the attic, but it’s been renovated into a studio with its own separate entrance, so I wouldn’t be sharing with anyone.
Location-wise it’s pretty central and 10 mins bike distance to TU/e.
The price is €800 rent + €200 servicekosten (electricity, water, internet, heating? not sure). So €1000 all-in every month.
Here’s the part that’s making me a bit uneasy tho. I haven’t actually seen the inside yet. There’s someone still living there and the landlord said he’ll send photos once the guy moves out (soon). I don’t know if that’s normal here or if I should be worried.
So I guess my questions are: does €1000 sound about right for something like this in Eindhoven? Is the “photos later” thing a red flag or just how it works when there’s a current tenant? And is there anything specific I should be asking the landlord before I sign anything?
Any advice would mean a lot, thxx 🙏
