Whatcha think about this..

I'm a big tinkerer and have done some CAD>3D print > create mold > cast/layup part type stuff for my motorcycle, other cars, random things here and there..

I'm thinking of digging into a project - a fascia 'insert'/added component to bring a little more edge to the front of the car.. Not necessarily final design, need to tweak the fins a little more vertical.. idk.. but something in this direction..

What's the general opinion? Kinda cool, kinda tacky.. I'm a bit in the middle. I think I like it enough to waste a bunch of time trying to do it.. just need some data for the bumper.. or a 3d scanner

Slight grind(?) feeling on downshift to 1st....

So I'm a few weeks into my 2022 GTS sedan experience - and love it more than any car I've had, with one exception: On downshifts from 2nd to 1st, and more frequently during very casual and gradual slow-downs at, say, a stoplight in town - speed varies, but 15mph ish. I notice a slight grind feeling/sensation (feels like 3 gear teeth contacting before mesh) under my feet during the downshift.

It's not audible at all, and doesn't cause any jerkiness or any other negative feedback than me feeling it under my feet.

Is this a common thing or am I looking at taking this in.

I drive in sport plus 95% of the time, and I'm wondering if that mode prioritizes a quick shift over 100% proper speed match and is not allowing enough time to butter mesh.

On the flipside, upshifts are the most instantaneous and seamless thing I've ever felt.

Anyone have CAD of a 2022 GTS front bumper/lower trim/full front plastics?

Basically what the title says - looking for actual scan or somehow leaked original CAD rather than a reproduction of unknown accuracy from one of the 3Dmodelz.com websites.. looking for a 2022 GTS (unsure what exact bumper changes it had vs. 4s/others beyond the enlarged teardrop) any luck?

Diagnostic/Engineering tools...

Hi guys - I'm an automotive engineer in the EV space with one of the other big OEMs (not pass-car, bigger stuff) - I've got my Taycan on the way to me as we speak, and have a feeling I will quickly want to plug a laptop in and dig into information (particularly if I have a problem). Question I have is:

What hardware/software are people using to plug in and see data? I'm thinking cell block voltages, temps, fan speeds, parameters etc... I'm familiar with and have access to Canoe/canalyzer which may work (?) - but I have zero familiarity with flexray, just old-school can.

Anyone aware of a reverse engineered .dbc (or whatever flexray equivalent) file out there in the ether?

My main concern is having an issue, having no visibility to the problem, and just taking my car to a dealership (feels very alien to me, I fix my own stuff) - I'd like to be able to at least diagnose myself first before letting some dingus give me the run around.

Hi guys, Just went through the process of getting a barrage of broker text quotes.. rates are coming in at and average of $1,400 over the 10-11 quotes I got. I'd like to work with a broker or an owner-op who is trustworthy and professional first and foremost. If you're trustworthy and not a fly by night operation - holler at me. Car will be ready as soon as I get money wired over (could be as soon as this weekend, if not - early next week)

What's your take? I'm shopping cars and have a target I'm looking at, but just got the original window sticker sent over and it does not have the Porsche Electric Sound option spec'd. It's a 2022 GTS fwiw - Do you enjoy this option or is it more of a fun party trick you keep turned off most of the time?

I'm shopping for a J1.1 GTS, and have found a 2022 CPO that looks good- Fresh CPO done in February this year. The seller is a Ford dealership and when I asked for details from the CPO inspection the called the certifying Porsche dealer location and were told that the CPO inspection report can only be given to the registered owner (sales guy said he called and pretended to be me to ask for it??). Does anyone know if that's true or is the (Porsche OR Ford) dealer just being difficult? Any other good ways to get the full details on this car?
