Pano Roof Shade?
Anyone in hot sunny climate find it necessary to use a pano roof shade? Or is the uv block in the glass roof sufficient? Allegedly (according to the dealer) you should not tint the roof because it may cause it to crack.

My wife purchased a 2023 Taycan in January of this year and has already had to replace the windshield twice. Thankfully, we purchased the glass protection plan which has paid off in spades. But I believe we have maxed out that coverage and further replacements will our responsibility. Would it make sense to get WPF? It runs around $700 USD while a full windshield replacement runs in excess of $3000 USD.
About to pull the trigger on a late 2024 J1.2 4s CT, £80k. First EV, first Porsche… I’m nervous! Still worried about how long these cars will last and the reports of constant problems, as well as the lack of range.
Someone please tell me not all of these are lemons and some haven’t had issues, even into age? I tend to keep my cars for around 10 years. Seeing all these posts with cars braking down is leaving me scared.
Range, driving carefully, 300mi from 100% must be possible on the 20s and in range mode…? Surely? BMW releasing the neue Klasse with 500 mile range makes me scared I’m buying into old tech and these will be worthless soon.
UK roads… is the car simply too big for country lanes? This one has RAS, so at least this helps with parking.
If I didn't had already I would buy it. Its a new vehicle sitting at 40% of it's price! Wow. Tell me should I get second one?
Turbo 2023 Volcano grey. Really wanted a jet black color, but the right year and specs were on this so i got the grey one
I've been going back and forth for weeks, but I think I'm finally ready to pull the trigger on a 2025 Porsche Taycan 4S.
It's a 2025 model with around 17,000 miles, and this would be my only car as well as my daily driver. My commute is mostly to the office, and I live in Dubai.
For those of you who own or have owned a Taycan:
Is there anything I should specifically inspect before buying?
Have you experienced any reliability issues or common faults?
How has battery degradation been in real-world use?
Any unexpected ownership costs or maintenance surprises?
If you don't have home charging, does ownership become a hassle?
Would you buy it again as your only vehicle?
Also, if there are any regrets or things you wish you'd known before purchasing, I'd really appreciate hearing them.
Thanks in advance!
What if anything are people displaying when driving solo on the seemingly useless passenger screen? Is there anything that can be displayed that is even remotely useful for the driver?
Just picked up a '22 Cross Turismo after months and months of lurking. Coming from a Tesla Model Y Performance, the Porsche is simply unbelievable!! The greatest car I've ever driven by far. Can't stop looking at it, it's such a beauty. I wasn't sure about Cherry metallic, but I think it looks great in person.
I don’t know if this is normal behavior:
I’ve noticed that sometimes, when I brake hard, the car gets “launched forward” after downshifting.
Let me explain: I brake at around 90%, the speed drops quickly, it does the fake/virtual gear downshift, then it stops braking or at least it feels like it only brakes at 30–40%.
It’s a bit like I had pressed the clutch.
Has this ever happened to you? What could it be?
2021 4s - New to me, 9,400 miles. Didn’t get from a Porsche dealer so no CPO, but had local dealer perform inspection and it passed. Purchased Ext Warranty that covers everything including battery, 5 years 60k.
Just had it wrapped Gloss Opulent Indigo and wheels powdered gloss black. Chrome trim gets blacked out next week. Thinking of going with bronze wheels. Thoughts?
Thought I’d have a little fun with it 🤣 Let’s see who gets the joke on my daily commute!
4s with chrono, RAS, PSCB
GTS without RAS
Why?
Bonus question - chalk vs black
Some crazy NY driver ran a light and hit my Taycan and ran. Just got her last month and now she’s gone 😢
Anyone know if this is a total or not?
What is everyone paying for the extra CPO year? I was quoted $6500
Looks like I’m joining the club. I’ve owned my 24 4S CT for about a year now, and this is the third time it’s been in the shop. Not an apples to apples comparison, but in the last 5 years, I brought my in my Tesla and Mercedes a total of zero times…
Went to drive this morning and I got the yellow circle. Had to call Porsche roadside assist to get a flatbed out and take it to the dealer. Looks like it was the high voltage battery charger which will need to be replaced. Last time it was the air conditioner module that went out. Looks like I’ll be driving around the base Macan loaner for a while.
It’s CPO and I’ve never paid a dollar for this stuff but it’s starting to get pretty annoying. Thinking about a swap but honestly I don’t want any other vehicle. Maybe I’ll drive it for another year and then get a CPO gen 2, but I worry the Cross Turismos are going to be hard to come by.
For reference this was a 2020 turbo I was looking to purchase and then have the Porsche warranty at a total cost of just over 7k with a potential fail of the 111 point check it seems a no brainer. Now it’s just to find one from Porsche uk
Hi all! I looked at two used Taycan 4S over the past two days. The one I drove yesterday had a wet area underneath, front half, at what must be the front edge of the battery area. I didn't think much of this -- I thought it was AC condensation. I didn't touch or smell the fluid. I test drove another one today and it was bone dry underneath after a similar duration test drive. The wet Taycan was being sold by a non-Porsche dealership, the dry one was private party. The wet Taycan has fewer miles and one year newer than the other one.
Is it normal for a Taycan to have a wet area underneath from AC condensation? Or do you think this is a strong sign that it could be something like a coolant leak?
I'm going to call the dealership to ask them to look into the wet area for me. I'm currently a few hundred miles from that dealership so I can't go look at it again in person until maybe Monday.
Wow - this car is amazing. Picked her up today, 2025 GTS with 10k miles
Been looking around for a Taycan Turbo S and came across one but, noticed that rotor on this wasn't mirror/shiny like the others that I've seen. Can anyone chime in and let me know whether the rotor needs replacement? 2020 with 30K miles.
