This is the most ambitious thing I’ve ever made. I didn’t think it was possible and lots of flowers/stems broke in the process, but I’m obsessed with it. Honestly, I’m surprised with how well it turned out and it’s opened up possibilities for some new ideas!

I was so proud of the OG Star Wars set that I did. I had never properly decorated sugar cookies before, but my friend asked me to do this for her daughter’s birthday. I figured out what shapes I wanted, printed them on cardstock, cut them out and placed them on my dough to trace. I thought this was such a genius idea haha. Now, I design and print all my cutters on my 3D printer, which is crazy to me. I haven’t been decorating for 12 years straight. I started doing this more seriously about 1.5 years ago but I’ve gotten much better with practice. I now love to experiment with really creative and challenging ideas, so I thought it would be fun to recreate this original set but a bit more elevated.

The C3PO and BB8 designs were models that I 3D printed and moulded with silicone. Then I push the dough into my silicone mould, which gives that 3D effect. BB8’s head also moves back and forth for some interactiveness! I experimented with creating a 3D effect with the icing itself and I’m happy with how it came out. R2 might have been overkill and would have probably been better as a proper mould.

I use petal dusts to elevate my designs, which is a total game changer if you’re considering using them.

Happy to answer any questions! And Happy Star Wars Day!
