Knives? Line cutter?

I have for years worn a NRS River knife in the plastic sheath on the chest of my PFD. Handy but does feel in the way occasionally. For reference I used to do a ton of white water kayaking at a relatively high level. For the last few years I've been doing a lot more rafting with the family. Both oars and paddle boat. I lost my river knife somewhere recently, and just wondering what people were liking these days. Folder in the pocket? In a sheath on the chest? Line cutter styles?

Just wondering if there is something else I should consider before I reorder the knife I've worn for years.

How was a wall like this made?

Were the rocks placed and the wall built, then chiseled or similar to get the shape? Or were the rocks cut and then placed? Many of the rocks are "round" and have clearly been cleaved to be flat on one side, but was the done before or after placement?
