DIG Gen K Zuheto Swu, KC, VSM, a former FGN general who later joined the BSF along with his troops, founding the 111th Naga Battalion. The BSF currently has two Naga battalions: the 111th and the 112th.

In 1975, DIG Zuheto Sir received the BSF's first Kirti Chakra while wearing India’s first camouflage uniform, introduced by the BSF. The Army later adopted camouflage in 1980.
