totally fine if the up escalator needs to be turned off for maintenance, repairs and cleaning but wmata i plead and beg that the escalator that does work is switched to the up direction when this happens ?

see real life proof at the georgia ave/petworth exit (left which goes up is turned off, right is turned on for the down direction)

what is up with the red line and the D80 near friendship heights ?!

this morning i was sitting on the red line going towards glenmont at tenleytown for at least 5 minutes. doors still open, no passengers on the platform. if wmata is going to make washingtonians pay up to almost $6 a trip (for some destinations) they need to fix this issue.

the other solution is to just take the bus…right? WRONG! even though friendship heights is the end of the line for the D80/82, the busses leave late almost every time. pisses me off to see multiple empty buses just turned off and staff chatting while the board just keeps flicking through the expected departures. (see video in comments, my watch is an hour behind)

i understand there is construction on the red line and that delays happen, but most of the delays i’ve experienced on wmata 1000% could have been avoided if someone’s manager just got off their ass.
