Is the profession of a writer more than just writing? Does it also include editing, marketing, and building an audience?

I’m a new writer, and I’m close to finishing two drafts. What scares me isn’t finishing them — it’s what comes after. I know I can publish on Amazon or other platforms, but how do unknown writers actually find readers? How did you get your first audience? Any advice

I have two novel drafts. The first one is the story that made me start writing, and it’s still the closest to my heart. The second one was meant to help me learn writing, but now it’s almost finished. Should I return to the first novel, or finish the second one first?

Reading in train

5 hours on a train today.

Recommend me a book I can finish in one sitting.

Something short, memorable, and impossible to forget.

You can recommend your own work too I’d love that.
