If you don’t have standards for yourself, you don’t have standards for how other people should treat you, and that includes exes, family, in laws, friends and colleagues. Before you date, you should at least have an inkling of knowing your identity, whether it’s your sexuality, trauma, political beliefs, religion, etc. It’s not your partner’s job to navigate *your* confusion.
