I am a 17F starting my second year of "bachillerato" (In our system, high school splits at age 16. Bachillerato refers to the final two, non-mandatory years of high school for students who plan to go to college. It is roughly equivalent to Junior and Senior years of American High School, but with a heavy academic focus like AP (Advanced Placement) classes or the International Baccalaureate (IB) program.) in this case, mine is focused on arts.

Main thing is, I really want to do some clown makeups to go eith my outfits since I like to dress very maximalistic with lost of colours and kinda silly sometimes, but idk if it's *too* weird, yk?

I dont plan on doing a cosplay or nothing, it would be just a makeup look.

(I share school with hs students so they range from 12-16+ and im kind of scared in gonna make fun off too, so I just need other opinions to decide)

I'm a 17F, and my neighbour is a 15F, I'll call her Mary (not her real name) to keep her anonymous.

For the past like two years, I've been hearing a lot of noise from my neighbours late at night.

From what I could hear, Mary stays up late, and his dad shouts at her because he says he can hear her and he has to work the next day.

At first, I could only hear yells, mostly from his dad directed to Mary, sometimes Mary's mom. But one day, I heard hits and Mary's cries between her father's yells.

She was pleading for him to stop. Her mom tried to calm the father down, but I think (I'm not fully sure) she got hit by him too after that.

That night, I couldn't sleep well, I was too worried.

I told my mom, thinking she would help me to help that poor girl, but she went and ASKED HER FATHER DIRECTLY IF HE WAS ABUSING HER. Then she just came back with a smile and told me that her father just looses his nerves sometimes, that's all.

Well, back to the present, I haven't thought about this topic in a long time.

It's 3 a.m., and I hear her father enter the room shouting (couldn't quite make it all out, but something about making noise), I don't hear a response from Mary. He leaves the room.

Like 2 minutes later, he comes back, shouts at her more, and he starts full on hitting her. First 5 hits, then 2, then 3. I can hear Mary pleading for him to stop and to get away from her.

I have never heard her so desperate.

In the next few minutes, I just heard Mary hyperventilating and crying desperately.

Later, her mom shouts at her father that he needs to go to bed because he keeps coming back to shout to Mary for crying too loudly.

I'm really shaken by all of this, I don't think I can get back to bed now. She is the sweetest girl in the whole wide world, and I can't do anything for her.

My mom is not an option. She says I'm just overreacting, and all of this is normal.

And I never see her without her parents, only when she is with her bf and she is too happy on those moments, I don't want to take that from her.

I don't think I can get her number either.

Idk what to do, I want to help her, but I don't see how I could.

Edit 1: Please don't be mean to me, I'm really trying my best, but my home situation is not good either, so I gotta take some precautions. I am trying to get someone to call the police for me.
