does it get any better?

hi friends!

got a nexplanon in january in hopes of not having a period anymore (unsuccessful iud attempt due to my anatomy) due to years of painfullll periods that made living life so dreadful. had no bleeding for the following two months, until I started bleeding and painfully cramping in March😖

since then, I’ve been having monthly bleeding that’s almost on par with the amount of bleeding pre-nexplanon (having to wear pads around the clock) that of course also is accompanied by painful cramping.

at first I tried to be hopeful that after 6 months things would stop. But now I’m so irritated and either want to take it out entirely or attempt iud under anesthesia

Have things gotten better for anyone over the 6 month mark?

reduction inspo pics from realself

hi friends i had no idea what flair to use with this💔

does anyone else use realself for their reduction inspiration photos and have been having issues looking at the photos in their folder? as soon as you press a photo in your folder, it takes you to an unrelated advertisement and you have no way of seeing the actual photo

people both pre and post reduction, how did you show your surgeon what results you were interested in and what sites did you use? idk if this realself issue will resolve and I don’t know what other ways I can make a folder or something with results I both like and don’t like

nursing jobs for a depressed nurse

nurses with severe depression or any mental health diagnosis in general, what job/unit do you work on?

I’ve been dealing with a severe depressive episode for more than a year, that has made it paralyzing to do quite literally any task other than lay in bed and go to work. been doing a lot of work with my psych and therapist, and it’s going to be a long journey. i love what i do and work does sometimes help as a distraction from my thoughts and emotions, but my capacity has became so low to continue doing this full time or in general. it’s at a point where i do wonder if I should take a break from my unit or bedside in general, to at least reach stability and maybe return back to doing what i love afterwards

it’s getting so miserable and difficult to come into your shift, when you’re quite literally struggling to have the will to live and immediately have to put on an act and act happy go skippy, and do so so so much esp working on a high acuity/high volume unit.

going part time isn’t an option (can’t afford it and also not an option on my unit) and I’ve thought about getting an outpatient job because maybe the lower acuity would help with the overstimulation and my low capacity right now. however, i don’t know if having to work 5 days a week would be beneficial in my situation. also can’t take FMLA or an LOA (can’t afford it also and also don’t qualify for FMLA anyways yet)

what nursing job or unit would help while trying to work on yourself and get to the point of manageable living and stability?

edit: thank you all so much for the love and support and advice!!! Means a lot💕

ways to efficiently manage dust

hi friends!

i live in a prewar apartment in nyc and this is my first time having hardwood, and the amount of dust that accumulates on the floor is genuinely getting so frustrating. i tidy up at least once every week and i find myself finding multiple new clumps and bits of dust (small, big, and medium) in all corners of my apartment.

i obviously have a broom but the amount of dust is so tedious that the broom is basically collecting and piling onto the bristles and basically does nothing. I just got on my hands and knees and dampened paper towels with some all purpose spray and cleaned up the dust on the floor in my entire apartment, but im really trying to see if anyone has a better suggestion for long term dust management or easier cleaning! :)
