Nights + fitness / weight loss

Hi team,

Seeking advice from those who have it figured out.

Currently on a weight loss / fitness journey, but nights and on calls have thrown a massive spanner in the works.

Calorie counting? How on earth do I classify breakfast, lunch and dinner when I'm eating so bizarrely over nights?

Likewise gym - absolutely shattered after long days or nights - feels like my progress is being haltered.

How can I get snatched please - holiday booked for September

What would your vigilante alter ego be?

Given the consensus that the GMC might be chill with it - what would your vigilante alter be?

Call it burnout but I might be scoping for ideas here.

GMC view on vigilantism?

Suppose Peter Parker happened to be Peter Parker MbChB working at FY2 level, and his secret identity was publicly outed - would the GMC consider this against GMP. If so, what sentence would he be given? Is being a chill guy who swings around and saves some people (albeit with a bit of collateral damage) an erasable offence?

F1 terrified of being "the SHO"

Looking for advice / support

FY1 coming to the end of my last rotation. I'm absolutely terrified of stepping up to SHO level. I'm sure I've learnt more than I think in FY1, but I certainly don't feel confident in my abilities. With the mix of rotations that I've had, my skills and abilities I do feel are below that of my colleagues. I am good at being the admin monkey, churning out discharge letters or clerking, but the moment I'm faced with an acutely unwell patient, I panic. So far, this has been fine because I've escalated to seniors, but I'm scared as the SHO, firstly I'll be the one escalated to, but secondly the expectations from me will be higher (and rightfully so).

Any advice would be hugely appreciated (maybe it's the night shift that's getting to me).

Emergency Leave for Conference?

Looking for advice desperately!

I got chosen for a once in a lifetime bursary to a conference next week.

I'm working in an area notorious for being constantly on minimal staffing (we've already been told we won't be able to get any SDT time due to minimal staffing). Then the doctor's strikes were announced, giving me the 2 days I needed to go.

Now the doctors strikes have been revoked. I'm absolutely gutted that I might no longer be able to attend. Is there any way of taking leave to go be able to go to an event like this? I've emailed our tpds and my ES - but scared they'll say no due to staffing levels. I don't mind taking this as unpaid - is that possible?

Thank you.
