What's your monthly cost to keep the phone ringing?

Curious what other handymen are actually spending per month on getting new work. Between Google Ads, Thumbtack, Angi, vehicle wraps, yard signs, whatever — it adds up fast and half of it feels like throwing money into a hole.

I've been tracking mine and I'm at about $200-300/month across a couple platforms. Conversion rate is terrible though. Most leads either ghost, were never serious, or already hired someone by the time I respond.

The only thing that consistently works for me is repeat clients and word of mouth but that took years to build and it's not enough to fill every week.

What's working for you guys right now and what have you given up on?
