Good nightlight recs for Nomad + light-sensitive partner?

What nightlights would people recommend for someone who is potentially interested in a Supernote Nomad for some nightwork (writing and reading) but doesn't want to disturb their partner? Every nightlight we've tried in the past has caused sleep disturbances and also, often caused glare on ereader screens (and sometimes physical book pages as well). I have had a Kobo for years and the combination of low-level frontlight + night mode (thanks to Nickel Menu) has been great for both us it - it doesn't wake my partner, and it relaxes me for better sleep. "Just go to another room" is not an option as the point is the be able to read in bed for better relaxation and sleep; also, coming in after my partner is asleep usually wakes them.

The Nomad is almost everything I want, and I like what I read about the company, but the inability to use any of their products outside of daylight hours is my absolute dealbreaker. If there is an attachable nightlight that didn't disturb my partner, I could go for it. Has anyone found a good nightlight for these purposes that works well with Supernote screens?

Writing feel compared to reMarkable

I am in the trial period for a reMarkable device. I really love the writing experience, but there are some cons that are making me consider other e-ink notetaking devices.

My friend has an Inkpad Eo that I tried out and I could not stand the writing feel - too slick. Do any of the PocketBook note-taking devices come close to the tactile feeling of writing on reMarkable? Alternatively, does anyone have suggestions for good screen protectors that can help with this? I know I won't get the exact same experience as reMarkable, but getting close could be nice.

Looking for a more reMarkable-like writing experience from Pocketbook or Boox

I'm looking for an eink device I can use for notes and reading. I'm in the 50-day trial period for a reMarkable Paper Pro Move, and the writing experience (especially the tactile feel) is great, but it's lacking in other regards (notably the battery life and the OS).

My friend has a Pocketbook Inkpad EO that they let me play with. It has so much going for it, but the writing experience (mostly the tactile part) is terrible to me; slick, but not glass-slick like an iPad screen. It feels weird and I hate writing on it, which is the main thing I need.

My questions:

  1. Are there screen protectors that can get me closer to that reMarkable writing feel? I know it won't be the same, but I'm willing to try out something close (or at least better than the current feel).
  2. Is there a different pen people would recommend if I went for an EO? Since it's Wacom, I think I can try different ones. Something with more heft would be nice.
  3. Would a Boox tablet provide a better writing experience?

reManager + KOReader + Calibre?

I'm switching from my Kobo to reMarkable Paper Pro Move. With the Kobo plugin, I was able to send my books from Calibre directly to Kobo, but this does not seem to be an option for the reMarkable. Is this possible at the moment, or are people just moving files to reMarkable using reManager's File Manager? Is there something I'm missing? I was hoping to be able to push using Calibre so I can track progress, easily note which books are on reMarkable, etc.

EDIT: Over USB vs over wifi/internet connection - I live in a rural area and our internet can be unreliable. It looks like Calibre <-> KOReader for the reMarkable over USB may be tricky, however.
