Is this a fossil?

What is it? It’s glittery around the growth patterns. Smells kinda metallic.

What’s this?

I found it a long while ago so I don’t remember the location. Definitely in England. Possibly south west. Heavy and Opaque

Found this beaut at the Jurassic Coast a few weeks ago

Quite a chunky, heavy piece of an Ammonite. Was walking along the beach of Chapmans Pool and it was just lying on the floor near the bottom of the cliff for all to see. So glad I constantly scan the ground whilst walking. Gave it a good wash off as it was covered in clay. It’s come up quite well. It’s quite hard to get the remaining material off, but I do like the way it provides a base for the fossil.

What would you do?

The company I’ve worked for for 20 years is dying on its arse and I’m not sure if they’re going to be closing down the site I work out anytime soon, the clarity from head office is extremely unclear and we’re all uncertain what is going to happen. Obviously if they go bust and make me redundant, they owe me a large sum. Previously they have closed other sites and moved staff to other sites within the group which is not practical at all and we think they did this to “get staff to leave” instead of making us long term workers redundant because I truly believe they don’t even have the money to pay redundancy. So in the last few weeks I have been looking for another job, attending interviews etc etc. I think one of these jobs may offer me a role at the end of the week. But still we don’t know if the company is going bust or not. I have been toying for weeks whether I should wait it out to see what happens. I have accumulated a lot of holiday in my current job and the new one is back to basics etc, slightly further afield than my current job (let’s say 15 mins each way difference), slightly better pay, same hours, but a very friendly company who seem to put staff welfare at the front of their business. Plus options of further growth at the new place in a rapidly expanding business. I’m so conflicted what to do and where to go with this. My heart says go for the new job but the part of me that deserves thousands of pounds for my years of service says stay and wait it out.

Curious to know how you would deal with this, if only to knock some sense into my head
