Choosing a teacher and graduate program

Bringing my dog to Japan with a MEXT scholarship

Hi everyone! I’m from Chile and I’ll be going to Japan on a MEXT scholarship. I’d like to bring my medium-sized dog (around 12 kg), but I’m thinking of going first and bringing him over once I’m settled.

Has anyone here gone to Japan with a MEXT scholarship and had experience bringing a medium-sized dog? I’d really appreciate any advice or recommendations about the process, pet-friendly housing, and bringing your dog over later

MEXT + Spouse: Fukuoka, Sendai, or Chiba — Which Is Best for Living?

Hi! I’m planning to move to Japan with my husband through MEXT, and we’re choosing between Fukuoka, Sendai and Chiba.

The stipend would be around ¥144,000/month, and we hope to find part-time work.

For people who live/lived there, which city would you recommend considering rent/cost of living, transportation, job opportunities and university housing for married couples?

We’d especially love to hear real experiences from foreign couples. Thanks!
