Been TUPE’d during maternity leave and now being made redundant before return - England

Looking for some help please to understand my rights or position!

I was working for Company A around 4 years. Whilst on my maternity leave (still ongoing) I got a call saying I had been TUPE’d to another company - Company B, I was given about a month’s notice before it happened. That in itself is a story for another day.

So I now work for Company B, however my role wasn’t within in scope so I’m actually role-less if you will. We’ve spent the past few months searching for a suitable role but nothing has come up, and I’ve been told I’ll be starting redundancy talks next week.

I’d like to understand what I can reasonably ask for in terms of redundancy package or compensation? Essentially I had a secure and supposedly long-term job with Company A, then got moved to Company B who have effectively just taken me on and thrown me out, leaving me with two young kids and no job. I think they’ve essentially done everything they need to do legally but it’s a precarious situation with maternity leave being involved.

Appreciate any advice or support, even if it’s just where else to try for advice! Thank you!

Photo of a young Jerry Cantrell

Photo of a young Jerry Cantrell. Don’t know what year the photo was taken or who the lady next to Jerry is.

His brother David posted a reel on instagram of his ‘boredom project’: which is what David refers to his collage project, where he puts a lot of the music memorabilia he’s collected over the years, as well as personal family photos, onto a board. The photo above is on the board.
