Have you ever traded vehicles with another person?

So for example, I have a truck and am ready for a sedan. I would love to find a person out there who has a sedan and needs/want a truck. I have a 92 F150. She isn't 100% perfect but I've done a lot to keep her running since I first got her. I know I likely wouldn't get an AMAZING car but she's too big for day to day city life.

Do any of you have older vehicles where you have to manually turn on/off the headlights?

I am deaf. Been deaf all my life. Anyway.

So I have a 90s vehicle and have forgotten to turn off the headlights 3 times in this past year alone. It has drained my battery. I have had to replace the brand new battery that was needed anyway.

What do you guys do to remember to turn the lights off on the way out of the car?

I'm very good about locking my car manually on the way out but I just can't seem to make checking the lights happen every. Single. Time. At night, it's easy enough when I can SEE the lights are on but during the day? I can barely see that the dash lights are on. I needed them today bc it was raining cats and dogs. This area I'm from is a meeeeeesssssss 🫪 My point being I don't tend to turn my lights on during the day.

It does make a sound when you open the door with the lights on but 👏 I 👏 Am 👏 Deaf 👏

Why do ppl move closer to the bus as I'm pulling up?

I'm not exactly talking about closer to the curb. I mean they walk in the direction that the bus is coming in as if to meet us sooner like we are some friend they haven't seen in a minute.

Drives me nuts. Makes me want to pull up past the bus sign so they have to walk back to the bus sign.

Anybody deaf or HOH?

I'm 100% deaf but still passed the medical thanks to my cochlear implant and hearing aid. These medicals can truly be a joke but I'm grateful for the CDL. Calling dispatch is the only gripe I have so thank God they can send written messages !

Me driving a relief car after driving a bus

And the bus I drove yesterday definitely wasn't on the slow side. Some of these cars we have are so zippy.

How do you take breaks when you're late?

I'm a newer driver, just passed training. Barely.

How do I take breaks if I'm late and the next part of the run either is starting the minute I pull in to the layover or has already begun?

Istg my company rewards unsafe driving practices more than safe ones. It's infuriating and made training more confusing than it needed to be. In the US.
