Recently bought this pinfire revolver for around 800 pounds if the extortionate shipping is included... Believe it is a Lefaucheux manufactured from 1866 to 1873 (third image has el with crown over it, indicative of a factory that ran these years).
This will be on auction in a few days. However, I am concerned about the rust, if any of you would be able to tell if it's surface level or if its rusted through, that would be great! Also, what price should I pay for it at max? Thanks a lot!
While the the text is rubbed off mostly, that was my best guess. The MS on the back is confusing to me, too. It could not stand for moneta sacra, as this was before Diocletan? Also, perhaps Pax is depicted on the back?Please help!
